Win in Craps: Play Craps in the Casino Tips

Craps is an exciting table game to play. If you don't know how to play this game yet, you should. It's one of the all-time favorites in the house and when you play, you will know why. If you already know the rules, use the advice given below for a more rewarding time playing craps.

The passline is a good bet.

It is easier to understand than other bets. And the payoff is very good too.

The don't-pass bet is another smart bet.

You can make this bet as well as the passline wager. They are both good choices.

Find out how the free odds wager works and use it.

If you think a craps shooter is going to make a point, and you bet, this is the free odds bet.

Avoid complex bets when you are starting out.

Actually, all wagers will be clear as mud to you. But this isn't really the case. It is true, however, that often the more complex a bet is, the lower the payoff for a gambler. Of course this isn't always the case, but if you are new, it is better to avoid them for the time being.

Bet on the outside.

That is, place your bets on the outer part of the betting table. The odds are better there.

Look for good paying odds on an odd wager.

You can find odds of 2, 5, 10 or even 100 for an odd bet.

Never, NEVER make an Any Seven wager.

The Any 7 bet is really a loser's bet. It has a house edge of almost 17%!

Watch your hands as you play.

To avoid cheating, players are forbidden to change hands or hide a hand from view between the time they pick up the dice and the time they throw them. So when you pick up the dice, make sure you use the hand you are comfortable throwing with. If you are left-handed, you will probably want to cast with your left hand, so pick up the dice with that hand. The opposite is true for right-handed people.

Use match play coupons to win in craps.

If you have a companion, you can use a coupon trick to win in craps.

First, take a match play coupon for one player and another for a second player. Take your friends along for this. One of you must place a pass line wager with the coupon. Another makes don't pass wager also with a coupon. Another player bets on the 12.

Now if either player with a coupon wins, they profit by the winner's coupon minus the bet on the 12. The same if a point takes place. If the roll results in a 12, you lose only the passline bet and win from the 12 bet. The don't pass line ends in a push and you still have one coupon left.
